We are glad to announce the opening of the Call for Papers for the European Conference on African Studies (ECAS), which will take place in Prague from June 25 to 28, 2025. The conference is open to both face-to-face and online participation.

Gloria Frisone (University of Pavia) and Yassin Dia (University of Milano Bicocca) invite you to submit a proposal for participation in their panel discussion, “Pathways of Elderhood: African, Afropolitan, and Afropean Aging between Africa and Elsewhere.”

Based on historical and anthropological studies on demographic aging in Africa and the African diaspora, this panel aims to discuss aging as a de-(re)-territorialized, poly-localized, and transnational phenomenon that questions and reconfigures African, Afropolitan, and Afropean belongings.
